Detox juices are everywhere in New York and Los Angeles. Women swear by them and I know some who do a juice cleanse once a month. At times I feel if you don’t have a green juice at least once a week, people question what’s wrong with you. But that’s the craziness of New York.
Here green juices are not considered trendy and not easy to find or buy. You are able to get them at Bob’s Juice Bar & Kitchen but they rarely use kale and just limp lettuce. If you want, you can make your own. And Amélie was kind enough to share her awesome recipe.
As with many of the recipes I share, there are things you can adjust based on your own preference. If you want this juice to be sweeter then you should add more apples but trust me once you try a Green Juice and then try it again, you will begin to crave the earthy, healthy taste.

Amélie’s Green Juice
1/3 or ½ bunch of curly green kale
1 lemon peeled
1 or 2 apples
½ or 1 orange peeled
Ginger (2 centimeters or more)
