Do you remember that horrible (but also awesome) VH1 show, Behind The Music? You know, the one where everything starts off great with fame and fortune and then fortune only leads to drugs, abusive relationships and bankruptcy? It was always a good choice for a rainy Sunday afternoon or a long run on a treadmill after work.
Luckily, my Behind The Choux, will be nowhere near as dramatic as Behind The Music, because it is just going to be a few behind the scene shots of my shoot with Rebecca for my upcoming Cabbage book!
Yes! A Book! I’m working with Marabout on an all things choux book for February 2015 release.
Annoyingly, when I went in with my kale book proposal, they’d already given the kale book to some chick who lives in California (because clearly living in California makes one really in touch and connected with the “kale scene” in France), but they came back to be about doing a book all about cabbages instead. I was really excited for this opportunity because while I of course love kale – I actually just love vegetables and really love cruciferous ones. Due to history and unfortunate smells while boiling, I think the entire category could use a little PR help.
The book will be a hybrid of gardening & recipes with gorgeous photography by my now new friend, Rebecca. I already adore working with her. We have a graceful dance in the kitchen while testing and shooting recipes and I can’t wait for our farm visits next week.
She is doing daily updates on her blog with “Behind The Choux” photos.
