Kristin, having just returned from 2 years in NY and having discovered Kale and its many uses, I had struggled to find the right translation (chou frisé seemed the best one), leave alone a market to find it. I’ve had strange looks from maraichers who tried to convinced me to get regular cabbage…. and today your article in the NYT just made my day. Since juicing is my current interest, it will certainly change my mixes back to being healthier, tastier and more nutritive. Again, thank you for the research and if you need any assistance… just wave a kale !

Hi Lionel – This response is much too late but I want to thank you for your comment. Chou frisé is great too but for different things. Glad to help you find chou frisé non pomme/chou plume/chou of many names!
