So yesterday was the big Yelp event and it would not have been possible without the support of the amazing cooking school, La Cuisine Paris.
As a little teeny, tiny Project that is still getting it’s feet off the ground, I don’t have a lot of access to larger kitchens. And while I won’t complain about the kitchen in my apartment, it was not the ideal spot to make kale goodies for over 300 people.
That’s where La Cuisine Paris came in. I’d taken a class there back in February and the was re-introduced to Jane by Bryan, who wrote the Project’s first real article for Smart Planet this past June.
Not only have I taken a great cooking class at La Cuisine and not only did they make the Yelp event possible, but I’ve also taken one of their new cheese workshops.
While I love kale, I also love cheese and I really love French cheese. I love it to the point where I’m not sure if I’ll be able to eat cheese when we move back to America someday. And since my level of French is not sophisticated enough to have a full-length educational conversation with my local fromagerie about all the cheeses they offer, I felt this would be a great way to learn something in English but from a real French cheese-man.
I learned the history of cheese, the eight types of cheese, how cheese is made and much more. And of course we tasted the cheese with scrumptious baguette and white wine. Whileit will take me much longer to become more of a cheese expert, I feel that I am armed with much more information than before.
Whether you live in Paris or will be visiting Paris and if you love cheese, check out La Cuisine Paris’ cheese workshop or try out one of their other cooking classes. You will not be disappointed.
