I leave all of you with one question for the weekend.
What market do you wish had kale and do you have a go-to farmer?
Tell me – let’s meet up – and let’s get some kale seeds to your farmer!
The past few weeks have been a bit up and down. A few restaurants have used kale in their menus resulting in happy French customers. There were two articles written about the project, one being in Le Huffington Post, which is a big win as it directly reaches French folks and is actually in French.
Madame Mustard told me this past Sunday as we trekked to the market in the rain that the kale is ten cm tall and in another month or so she should have something. So that’s a big deal – kale at the official bio markets in Paris!
Monsieur Vincennes canceled another farm visit, but it was for the same horrible, cold rainy Sunday, so while I of course was disappointed, I also took advantage of the hibernation-type weather to play in my kitchen all day. Trust me, I swear he exists!
Things are moving along and it’s all good. A few of you are lucky enough to live close-by a market where kale is being sold or can pop into Bob’s Juice Bar for your own personal order.
So over the past few weeks I’ve asked myself numerous times: what’s next?
And for me, the immediate what next is to find more farmers. More and more farmers. And if you’re outside Paris, you’re included in this request – I can post seeds to you as well. Let’s talk.
So as I said at the beginning: I leave all of you with one question for the weekend.
What market do you wish had kale and do you have a go-to farmer?
Tell me – let’s meet up – and get some kale seeds to your farmer!

First of all, congratulations for this crazy and fantastic project.
My name is Marie, I live 30 km N-W from Paris, in a small village where half of the inhabitants are farmers, and which is famous for its cabbages (actually since the Middle Ages).
But they don’t grow kale — yet.
I never had the opportunity to taste kale myself, but I’m dreaming of it (so my reply is a little bit selfish, I must admit). Since me and my family are very fond of vegetables, we have some contacts with our local farmers. One of them, especially, has almost become a friend of ours. I would be very happy and very proud to ask him to plant some kale seeds (if he agrees of course).
You said “let’s talk”. So let’s…
