Here is a great segment about kale done by France 24.
Unfortunately I was in America when they contacted me for part of the interview, so just a photo will have to do. It’s great news that the kale at Jour is doing so well (100-150 kilos per week?! Who would have thought!) even though they don’t massage the kale and leave it rough and tough and horrible for a salad – and especially for those trying it for the first time.
As ever, the lovely Nicholas Thirard is interviewed and showing his organic purple and green kale that has been selling very well at La Ruche Qui Dit Oui.

Last week I contacted Bio Coop about growing and selling kale in Hérault. We have a big market garden ‘industry’ here so it could easily be incorporated into that. I also spoke to my local Bio Coop store about stocking kale, so when the guy spoke to head office, they had already got my mail and were able to make plans. They want to get growers here to start cultivating it and are contacting their suppliers to see if they are keen.
My mail apparently went the rounds of the Bio Coop community so I’m hopeful that we’ll see kale down here some time in the near future. If this happens, I’ll let you know so you can add it to your ‘Finding Kale in France’ map. :)

Hi Sarah, Thank you for your message! This is great news and I do hope you keep me updated. One of the reasons why this has all worked is because I’ve been able to aggregate all the spots and there is a central place to check – so if your Bio coop’s do have kale at some point, I can do a post on it in various channels to help spread the word so it sells and the store buys more! Thank you for taking the initiative and feel free to email with any udpates kaleprojectparis@gmail.com -Kristen
